Quick question that I would really appreciate an answer to if possible please.

What are the current regulations regarding the thickness of lead flashing needed for a dormer valley. I believe it is Code 4 but could someone tell me when this changed (code of practice was updated) from Code 3 or less please.

Thank you for any help :D

Thanks for the reply guys - appreciate your help

Could you also let me know when we changed over to code 4 / code 5 please.

For example if you had a dormer built 10/12 years ago, was the code of practice the same as now?

I am under the impression that we changed to code 4 /code 5 a couple of years back but I can't seem to find this on the internet anyway.

Thanks again for all your help.

The only difference between using code 4 and code 5 is the dimensions of the sheet. Bigger the sheet, thicker the lead. For small sections code 4 is fine. The Lead Sheet Association produces tables of max sizes for each code. But I don't think they're free.

Thanks for your help John

Just one unanswered question though.

I need to know when the code of practice changed from code 3 or below to code 4 (for dormers).

I heard it was a couple of years ago but cannot find this online.

Thanks for all the help thus far.
