Dover...

We had some sovereignty over the French (through joint EU membership) before Brexit because free travel within the EU was mandated for all members. Ironically now we've left and regained sovereignty we have less say in the matter. Was that factored in as a consequence of Brexit?

Blup

Same here when we used to go through the tunnel - by some miserable French git. You knew when you were reaching civilisation and manners when you met the British Border control in Calais on the way back.
Gammon Brexer xenophobia alive and well on the forum.

Brexit - utter pile of poo and getting worse.

its the french s fault

the scoundrels do it deliberately

same as these migrant boat crossings, entirley the fault of the French scoundrels
I feel the same way.
Yes, I know that things are different now that we have left the EU, but how is it that other EU countries - Portugal is a good example - are not acting in a petty anti-British way. Passport control is not the only thing that the French are using to get back at us for leaving either. They turn a blind eye to the 'boat people' leaving their shores and, rather than prevent them leaving, they French navy actually accompany them to ensure they arrive at - and sometimes beyond - our maritime border!
Of course, they have always been our enemies throughout history, apart from 1914 and 1939 for some strange reason!

Covid has given many an excuse to take things easy. There are fewer people working everywhere and this is why there are shortages and queues everywhere. Covid has destroyed the work ethic in all those who took the funny money.

Lets see your stats from your fantasy world.

Phone up any large organisation. Bank, building society, public utility, insurance company etc and see how long you are on hold before being put through to a junior working from home!

Yep. Scoundrels at work again.

WRONG

the reason is Brexit.

Passports now have to be stamped, they must have an expiry date more than 90 days…..that all takes time.

Dover is woefully unprepared for post Brexit sh1t.

Calais has an all now port built with 30 lanes for trucks.

UK = FA, same 6 lanes

Yet the infrastructure has been like this since Brexit, but the chronic backlog only appears on a busy day when the French staff don’t turn up for work…..
