Most of us here would only put downlights in a skip, thats what BAS means..... 
Because they are a pain in the ass to specify, install and maintain. They are crap at lighting much up.
The best, low energy light is a fluorescent tube.
Do you remember how everyone stuck dark brown cork tiles on their walls in the 70's?

And only fit for garages and lofts, IMO of course!
I don't think I've come across a customer who has requested one to be fitted anywhere else.

and preferably have HF control gear so you can dim them.
