Sadly the ignore button doesn't work on quoted posts, so I did see that, and I'd like to point out to our younger readers that before I realised that he, and his opinions, were worth less than dog**** on the sole of my shoe, srj-90 (that's stupid racist joe-90) regularly insulted me and millions of others with his racism and Holocaust denials.

No doubt the fact that the mods have removed all evidence of the latter will prompt him to vainly ask for proof. (He will).

Not being funny, Ban, but that is just Joe's opinion, which he is still free to spout, regardless - we're not quite up to Austrian levels of thought-control, just yet anyway. Free speech (albeit only up to a point these days): it's why millions of people fought and died in two world wars. Apparently.

Personally, I prefer to take the view that it was at the whim of merely satisfying the enormous egos of the various politicians in many countries, including the good ol' UK.

Exactly. If you actually check the specific forae, you will find that those implicated in the OP's post actually post sane, helpful replies to questions - even including Joe, (only on occasions, mind ).

Stop taking forum life so seriously, most of it is only a wind-up and there are some cracking rejoinders that appear from time to time eg Softus' ...killing them in some other way - with his song, perhaps" - pure class. Well worth sifting the chaff for imho.

Simple answer to the OP is ... If you are sick of the posting on the site, either ignore the individuals who sicken you or use another site.

Simple really and certainly more straight forward than expecting everyone else to change to suit you.

I'm dismayed at such a dismissive and CBA post from someone whom i had grown to respect.
I don't want to ignore anyone, i like to read a full range of opinions. However, what i object to is that person A starts a discussion, and persons B and C spend 2 or 3 pages calling each other @$%&'s. I am well aware that the internet is the wild west of the 21st century but society still demands a certain level of respect at all levels. Greedy, self-obsessed people are the blight of this world.

And as for the comment that i should "use another site".... that's a bit like saying 'if you don't like knife crime in London, go and live in Swansea or Belfast rather than tackling knife crime'.

Also i don't expect 'everyone else' to change to 'suit me'... i expect people to show respect for other people that's all... not too much to ask is it?

And finally, i have to say MW i'm disappointed by the flippancy of your post (amongst others)... but hey, what does it matter what i think !

You're missing my point.... i don't mind the banter.... i like to watch combat between two consenting adults, whether it be physical or verbal.

But this site is about discussion, hearing lots of people discuss a particular subject is refreshing and informative... but what you do ... errr person C does is take the thread away from the subject matter and conduct a totally different conversation.

Why don't you open thread called "a bit of banter" and go and argue with who you like?
