EV Charging Advice

OK, thanks, I did think that was the case. Can the tails be split in the box and one set diverted to a mini CU outside? As shown in the pdf.
The decision for me is do I take the new SWA cable to the meter position (much, much easier) or do I take it to the existing CU inside?

officially meter boxes are for dno equipment.
But personally, if there is plenty of room in the meter box, and it is much easier to run the cable there, then that is probably what I would do. You will need an MCB in there.

You would have to ensure that the charger you selected had built in PEN fault detection. As adding the PEN fault detector into the meter box as well would really be eating up room (but it does happen)

Rather than leave the cable exposed at both ends for years, consider fitting an outside RCD socket.

Have a look at this youtube channel. Will give you loads of ideas.

Cheers Andy. Very useful. The external end of the cable will be inside the garage. If and when it comes to it the cable can then be drilled through the corner and the external box will be to the side of the garage door. Thanks again.
