I have got planning permission to divide one larger room into two with a timber partition wall ending in the external large existing sliding doors opening (with concrete lintel above).
I am struggling to find any construction details for an external timber pier for this dividing wall between the rooms to fix Aluminium French doors on either side of the pier.
Window manufacture has said it’s totally fine to fix to a timber wall here but I can only find brick or block piers details rather than timber.
I am proposing to clad the outside in an aluminium u-shaped panel to tie in and match the French doors.

Does anyone have any information on this timber pier construction detail for Building Regs submission?

A 4×2, then membrane, then a thermal break, then your cladding.
