You could, usually they are started when the light comes on, and off several minutes after u turn off the light.

Will have to look how mine is wired, it’s a timer one on a pull switch but doesn’t run on after the switch is turned off. There an isolator next to it in the loft.

To start with mine looks like it’s leaking a bit.

The wires in the unit have a jumper between 2 of the points. The isolator has 3 wires.
