Hi,
Having some dilemma where to place an extraction fan in my ensuite as looks like "static" vent (old hole above the window) and opening a window is not enough to take a moisture out, especially during a winter.
Attached a sketch of bathroom and noted where the black dots starting coming out, so want to make sure to put it in right place.
Thanks

Above shower.
Air comes in either below door or through window and out extractor

If directly above the shower, you may need a low voltage fan, or an inline fan if there is space to fit one.

Whilst an extractor may help - the best thing you can do, once the shower is finished, is open the door a bit and keep the window open until the room clears and cools down, natural ventilation is the best approach. Have the window open whilst showering to allow the steam a path to escape. Also if there is a radiator, have that on, the convection will help clear the humid air from the top of the room.
