OK Crafty, It's Friday night and your with your mates on here. Just how many cars have you trashed?
ONE! the micra was on its way out anyway, being 14-15 years old and all, they weren't built to last forever, and having been written off once BEFORE I OWNED IT, it had a good innings, and it was only the gearbox that went, someone could have repaired it, it wasn't trashed.

The Punto collision was not my fault, as the thread i mentioned above will show. I'm still seeking compo for mine and my family's injuries (all 4 of us were in the car, with varying degrees of injury, i came off least injured!) and the guy who caused the accident has conveniently disappeared off the face of the earth, it would seem.

For those who remember, the guy was offered a driver rehab programme, which he took, and then cancelled at short notice, claiming to have had a stroke. The police are now after him to prosecute as they would have if he hadn't taken the rehab course in the first place.

And I had a minor collision in my fiesta, which only caused cosmetic damage, and was repaired within the week by my local Ford garage.

I had two of them.

So you could drive one while the other was being repaired?
Beg to differ ;-) Not many parts = not many repairs. The ones my parents drove was very cheap to drive, almost no repairs needed.

And for some history lessons

My worst car was a Moskvitch 408. My second worst car was a Moskvitch 412.

My parents in the 70's drove the Daf 44, gear stick was forward or backward! I think it was Honda dealers that were selling them? The gearbox was a 2 cone drive gearbox type as you don't hear any gears changing!

Automatic gearbox, invention of the brothers van Doorne (Doornes Automobiel Fabrieken = DAF) also called the Variomatic.
Drive as fast backwards as forwards (well fast ;-))
