Ferroli or Vaillant?

vaillant is a good solid boiler, ferroli on the other hand is a dog. they are miles apart.
size your combi on incoming water flow rates.
been bitten once too many times to consider recommending a viessmann.

get a ferolli and keep the gas repairs industry ticking over ;)

So are you saying Ferolli arent good? :D

I guess their 5yr warranty is excellent, but its beter to have a boiler that doesnt need a 5yr warranty.

I think im learning.

i was rather impressed with my rather polite way of giving you the answer but seen as you asked for it here goes....

no boiler is bullet proof! however! there are boiler manufactures that tend to make consistantly more reliable well designed boilers providing you make an effort to treat the water condition you shouldnt have any problems. ok ok ok so the stainless steel gionni heat exchanger is the weakest link in the jig saw but as i say as long as you make every effort to clean the water before you stick the vaillant on the wall you i would have more faith in you calling me for a service in a years time than to ask for ferollis number to fix the thing so that been said i can confirm fix boilers for a living and I AM telling you ferollis are corap always have been and from what ive seen of that box of metal always will be!

with some bias of cuase but then you have to look at why one would have a bias in the first place which incase you dont know is self explainetory

From the research ive done, Vaillant do seem to have a good reputation. Just need to decide on the right model for what you need.

never had to change the heat exchanger on a valliant.
i've changed the secondary (bolt on) heat exchanger on a ferolli, there int much difference in price tho!
the weak link in the valliant use to be the rubber hose's and the blip switch and i think they have modified them

Ive read the details of the warranty on their website, but couldnt find any nasty suprises. Which is the dodgy bit?

Says it needs to have system flushed on install, be serviced anually etc. Is there more I should know about?

I'd sooner have a boiler installed with a 2 year warranty which never needs to be used, rather than a 5 year warranty which get's used twice a year.

Ferroli have been around for years and always been pants.

Vaillant are good boilers, worth the extra.

How big is the house its going into, 37kw is massive!

You'll need a 28mm supply for at least part of the way if the boiler is more than a few metres away from the meter, also what other gas appliances you have in the house will need to be considered.

HTH Sam :)

Ferroli have been around for years and always been pants......Modena is probably one of the best boilers EVER made so you obviously do not know the history of that one :D

i am sure if the op was going to replace the boiler he would of done it by now!
the modena is carp, thermistors venturi's pcbs are all common faults
