if its an open flue boiler just drill the flue MEN WHAT YE THINK?

You will get a straight answer in the CC, this is not a subject for the open forum; no point in giving cowboys lessons in how to bend the rules.

just take the flue off and stick the probe in

failing that as suggested post it in the cc

why not just stick the probe 200mm up the flue from the down draught diverter?

I am sure that some people have done mad ( and dangerous ) things with boilers.

Just because a few have done stupid things does not mean its correct.

You should only do whats right and generally accepted as correct.

You will only find that out in the CC.

Strictly speaking if you are not gas registered you can only use an FGA on the flue outlet or up the sraught diverter but NOT by opening any FGA access points.

Oil boier not gas, and no draught diverter. Sorry there is a hole on the front access door on the boiler, there is a small metal plate and when you move it aside you can look in at the flame, can it be taken from there or is it too close to the flame

That kind of thing can only be judged by an oftec registered engineer. Apply for access to CC with your oftec details to admin, normally you are through in a day.

if you did your oftec ticket you'd know what to do. you cant set an oil boiler up properly without a flue gas analyser.
my dad sat me down when i was about 15 and told me not to stick things in holes willy nilly, as it could get me in trouble. id advise something along those lines for your good self.
