First frost of the year

When I’ve been in a rush, I’ve used lukewarm water - a quarter of a kettle of boiling water, then filled it up with cold. You need to leave the wipers on though (make sure they’re not frozen to the screen) otherwise the water immediately freezes up.

You poured it too quickly - hot water from the tap is fine - put it in a 2 litre pop bottle and screw the lid on, but not all the way, so it dribbles out when you squeeze it (sounds like I worked out what's going on in John's pictures)

Take a couple of minutes to empty the bottle over the glass - the idea is to flow the water slowly so that by the time it's reached the bottom of the screen it's lost its heat into the glass by conduction, thereby warming the glass..Then one wipe to dispel excess water and the glass will remain warm long enough to prevent a re-freeze, until the car's heater can take over (blowing 1 degrees C air in your bleary eyed face, as you drive to work.. joy)

I didn't think children would be interested in porn.

Although with there being some rather elderly children in the news lately, I suppose it's possible.

Obviously no one here has a ford, BMW or Land Rover fitted with a heated front screen. The screen on my ford connect still clears most of the screen, but leave the bit in front of my face frozen. If I'm lucky, I'll get a crack in it soon and get it replaced.
