Reading in the past our our water were fished to the detrement of the English, our quotas were less than other eu nations in our waters......banning the massive eu trawlers means the seas can recover ......this nonsense of throwing dead fish back due to eu regulations can be stopped.

Any boat trespassing from the Eu should be siezed, impounded and fined, scrap the boat and charge them for the scrapping. Strong deterrents should be made law.

It looks like Boris Johnson will need to compromise on fishing rights in exchange for a financial services deal.

This should not be a surprise, brexit was never going to yield a return of all fishing to UK without a heavy price.

Notwithstanding that 80% of UK fish quotas were sold to foreign business.

What a great way to start a war. What do we do with the crew, give them food and accommodation?

eu regulations

Luckily Nigel Farage was appointed to the European Parliament Fisheries Committee.

Unlike select committees in Westminster, which have only an advisory role, those in the European Parliament can mould important legislation through “co-decisions” over EU policy alongside the Council of Ministers.

No doubt he spoke up for UK interests and sweet-talked his friends around the table into supporting them. They love co-operation and consensus.

Or he would have done, except he couldn't be arsed to attend more than one.

Out of forty-two.

Over three years.
