Fitting 5 halogen low lights (no transformer)

Hi, thank you in advance to anyone who can help.
I am fitting 5 non transformer halogen spots into a bathroom (thy are designed for area c bathroom and kitchens). On removing and the ceiling rose I have two thicker black wires, which are live and then the main white cable with one red black and earth.
I have always come accross more wires and often just wired them into the new light. Please help with my next steps, the bathroom has no dimmer switch or fan connected.

You often have switch wires at a ceiling rose, or a supply out to say a fan. Adding lights to a special location is notifiable to your LABC under part p of the building regs.

Hi, the only insulation is the black plastic coat around the copper wires, they are seperate to the thicker white cable with the red, green and yellow and thinner black cable. thank you for your help. ben

Hi, thank you for your help. Zone C is the zone that B&Q reccomend for kitchen and bathrooms. What is meant by a special location? and who are the LABC?.
There is a fan but it is not activated by the light and has a spur added at a later date by an electrician, he made a point of saying it was nothing to do with the light. All I have is the main two thicker wires with a black insulation and a white cable which has a seperate black,red and yellow and green wire.

Owing to the increased risk of a fatal electric shock posed by a body being wet and naked in the bathroom is designated a special location by the IEE regulations and the Building Regulations. There are extra precautions which need to be taken when carrying out electrical work in a special location such as to what you can put in there and where you can put it.
The zones in a bathroom are now designated 0, 1 and 2 which is why I don't understand where Zone C comes from. Kitchens are not a special location and don't have the same restrictions regarding zoning from an IEE regulations point of view. (You are however restricted to what electrical work you can do without notification to your LABC in a kitchen)
The LABC are your Local Authority Building Control.
This work is notifiable to them under part p of the building regs.
You need to know exactly what you have before you can start modifying anything.
