For those who have difficulty in understanding or havent read all the responses, my council charges for a new bin, although yours may not.

We cancelled our garden waste bin when it went from £35 to £80. Told them to come and take it but they said to keep it in case we changed our mind the following year but they’d come and pick it up if we insisted. Can you do the same and after it’s collected take out a new one next year?

Can anyone suggest a filler to fix a hole in the bottom of a Garden Waste Wheelie BIn?

A couple of sheets of galvanised steel, or alloy, one inside, one outside, and drill/fix a bolt and nut in each corner.

round here bins are £38 reigate and banstead
not sure how long a perspex would stick as both pvc and perspex need to be well scratched to give a key
i think with the amount off banging and twisting in action a patch may be hit or miss
i personally would go for 12mm plywood and no8 /4mm wood screws 4mm hole in plastic bin and screwed into ply so easy to replace
the only problem is getting the ply inside the inverted bin to be pushed against the base till the screws grip

Lay it down and get in there and pop in a couple of screws from inside out then climb out and put as many in as you like, snap off the couple you first but in or unscrew them.

I'd hazard the very fact the OP is even asking means most of these suggestions for a fix will pass over their head .....

At the end of the day, it’s a bin.

Drop in a bit of plastic and glue it or drop in a bit of ply and use self tappers from the bottom
If the wood rots in five years, put another one in.

Erm... I had read the previous posts. Not sure why you seem to have taken umbrage with my reply. Apropos reading previous responses- I had already recommended your proposed solution.

My post was 10 minutes after your's. As you posted, I was trying to find out how many councils seem to be be willing to replace them for free.

But anyway - since suggesting many different ways to repair seems to be the thing, I'll throw this one in:

Thorougly clean, degrease, and key the bottom inside (behave yourselves).

Fibre glass matting and resin.

Throw piece of ply the same shape as the bin bottom, into the bin. Throw massive wedge of wet leaves and grass into bin. Tilt bin to 45 degrees. Drive screws through bin base, into ply

As its now getting to the time I will need it for the garden I decided to go for the Pesrspex sheet. Does anyone know if B&Q will cut you a bit to size?

Some other questions lol:

Can I sand the bottom of bin with an electric hand sander?

What is the best way to attach it to bottom of bin? Bolts or Hand Rivets and what diamater?

What should I seal it round perspex with?

You're overthinking it.
