Its only the lighting circuit with a floating earth & everyone has been told not to touch any fittings.
The sockets are all fine.
But I have other more important things to fix before I can replace the lighting feed.
I'd show a pic of the CU but I cant find my USB lead for the phone.
Last inspected in 1988, an old wired fuse box.
The main earth was awful & I have temporarily replaced it although will redo it all when a new Cu is fitted.
Need to do some woodwork, brickwork & fitting of cable trays/ducting first.
BUt I dont want to take over this thread, I was just reflecting on my own case giving similar results.
