No.
Hip trays are there to support the ridge tiles due to the longer diagonal incremental spans between the roof tiles. They are not used on the horizontal.
Even with dry ridge, we always compo the ends and junctions....
Good practice though more important for larger format tiles.
The lack of trays will not affect the hips performance.
I have seen hip junctions capped like yours but a lot neater..how it is secured would be my question.
Yes sits ok , looks square from outside and inside , roofers said that until you plaster board it , it's going to get a bit of draught , bar shuts smoothly
Really appreciate your help (and everyone else on here)
Roofer said same , he said it will come from under the tiles , because there is no plasterboards or anything so it normal.
Thanks again mate really helpful and much appreciated .
Just an update..... roofers coming back Tuesday , he said he's going to put the flashing under the tiles and mitre the joint and seal it.
He said the guy who put flashing on top has done it because where he used work at his previous job ,that's how he was taught , and roofers apologised and said will sort it Tuesday as that's not how they do it.
