Hi
I need to insert floor joists (200x47) into the web of a steel beam which is a 305 ub
The floor joists only need to go into one side of the steel, so am I correct in thinking that I just need to bolt a timber into the web on one side and fix this through with bolts and washers? (All videos I have seen show timber bolted in on both sides)
Also, as the joists need to be positioned at the top of the beam on hangers, am I best using a 300x47 timber infill, so it fills up the entire web (rather than a 200mm infill which would have a gap of 100mm below? And packers behind this to bring it flush to the edge of the flange?
Thanks
George
