I currently have a flueless gas fire fitted in my lounge diner. This was originally two rooms which have been knocked through to make one large space. The ventilation from outside through the 2 Ft thick solid stone wall is situated in the original dining room area but the fire is in the original lounge area. I plan to re-build the partition wall to separate the rooms again as was originally built. This will isolate the ventilation from the fire. My question is, will it be sufficient to install a ventilation path through the new stud wall to provide the required ventilation flow, or will I have to install a dedicated vent path from outside in the lounge where the fire is situated?
