In the past ive seen a small square plug, used for mains powered clocks, which gives you a detachable mains take off within the profile of a single wall plate. Sort of an FCU you cna unplug.

Can anyone give me the name or a supplier of these? or a suitable alternative?

I want to have a heated mirror pad fitted but dont want it to be captive to the wall (as it would with an fcu) but I want to hide it behind the mirror without stand the mirror of a mile (which you couldnt with a standard 13amp or even 5/2amp plug).

used to be very popular for extractor fans, makes it easy to isolate or remove for cleaning.

They're one of those things I've never fitted in my entire career. I've removed plenty mind you.

The smaller square you can see is the plug. It has two or three flat pins depending on how old it is, and a small fuse inside.

I found one in my house where a previous owner had used it to supply a clock radio off the bedside lighting fused spur.

quite sensible really.

I wonder if I should use one for a cooker extractor hood.
