Installing a new kitchen. With the fridge being a built in unit and therefore the socket will be near impossible to get at in the future is it acceptable to simply drop a single box down to low level ie so it can be reached from inside the kickboards, and install a flex outlet plate with a single socket fed from the plate. The plate will be switched from a DP switch. Is this the standard way of doing this or what do the rest of you do in this situation? Cheers BL

You are ok wth that set-up, but you should be aware that this is classed as a new installation and therefore is notifiable to your local builing control.

Cheers mate.

Part P is not statutory over here in NI at the moment.

if it's a built in, then I'd be inclined to either wire it to a flex outlet plate or put a 15A round pin plug on it and use a switched fused spur above the counter to do the fusing..

that way you don't have to worry about the fuse going in the plug..
