Hi All.

Looking at doing a spot of decorating ahead of Christmas and looking for paint recommendations.

Current
The walls are all Magnolia on plaster with White ceilings.

What
The lounge and hallway need to be painted totaling around 75m2

Requirements

1. The paint needs to be cleanable as we have a 9-month-old who has just learned to crawl and soon will get all hands and food everywhere.
2. Preferably 1 coat

I visited B&Q and they were recommending Valspar The Perfect White emulsion at £44 for 10L - a special selling point being the cleanability and its endurance to scrubbing.

I know there are lots of different companies, Layland, Dulux etc. Which one is the best and most cost effective. Preferebly with a one coat requirement.

Is it actually any good?
Are there cheaper alternatives?
Will I need more than one coat? - if so would you recommend an undercoat paint?
If not, are there others you recommend?
