Anyone else notice the doubled over fuse wire here? I'm guessing 30A fuse wire in a 60A fuse holder. Fun.

Nice install though, other than being unsafe! Has much more character than the plain white CUs that safe installs have!

Nice install though,

Bit rough in parts. but I like the pipe work, especialy the bit with 3 bends and a double set in, looks like the bends were hand formed, proberly with a wooden block.

An electrician might take the view that the installation is of such an age it is not possible to evaluate it according to current regulations and standards.

It's not. I wouldn't fancy disconnecting VIR conductors for testing without risk of damaging them.

Or possibly of them damaging you - I think there are good grounds for saying the installation is so old the electrician cannot work on it safely.

True but it should have been isolated prior to working on it.

Oh yes, if it got ebayed some sad collector would hopefully buy the lot, it would be a crime if it all got skipped. Some old installations should really be listed to preserve them.

I've seen a few installs like that ... Fed from a nice shiny new digital meter.
