I like the vaillant and glowworm

don't mind the baxi as a cheeper option

worcester has gone down hill

also where is the best place in birmingham to get boilers or the internet

We use Vaillant for gas and WB for oil, I quite like the look of the Intergas design for combi boilers but the boss likes his Vaillants...

On the subject of things going downhill however, Vaillants are becoming something of a worry, it seems there's more and more plastic appearing in them and I've seen two in the past few weeks that have broken down after little more than a year's use. One we installed, one we didn't, the pump had died on the one we installed (pump was clean internally, no obvious reason for failure, but it wouldn't spin for long even when encouraged with a screwdriver and it was making a lot of noise, new pump cured it), the diverter valve had broken on the other one. Hope this isn't going to turn out to be a trend.

try a ideal logic ya wont look back.

no plastic, all brass & chrome.. grundfos pump, 5 year warrenty, weather compensation

i might look at the logic, they are supost to be getting better.

my vaillant is 3 yrs ond i had a intermitant fault the pcb was shot and the was gonna replace the ntc, you notice it when it is ur own boiler (i'm 23 and paying a morgage as many are) the rubber hose had a worp in it aswel
phoned vaillant and said i wanted the hose to be replaced under waranty (i no it is out off warranty after the yr) they wanted to charge me 305 i live just down the road from the vaillant training centre so i had a word with my rep they changed all three things free
lucky

We use the johnson & Starley Reno's , not a bad company to deal with purchase direct from them , cuts out the supplier , which under certain circumstances does have advantages , no registration docs to fill in !

We will probably take a look at the intergas range in the new year , some in the CC rate them highly !!

Oil started useing the Grant boilers , were useing the Worcestor but are not impressed , IMHO they are c**p !

Which boiler manu should take the turkey of the year award , for installer ( customer !) support (Not)

well I will nominate Biasi UK for the award , perhaps a prize should be given , a restored Travant or moskavitch car maybe ? or a fortnight in helmond province may be ? & should u be watching grenville I note with interest Biasi may have another court appearance from a dissatisfied customer ?? may be ?? alledgedly ??

WARNING
edited on the 27th feb 2011 The Johnson & Starley Reno boilers have proven to be the most unreliable boilers we have ever had the misfortune to install an absolute disgrace stay well clear !

well I like intergas. to my mind it is a more elegant design. heard a rumor that they are under real growing pains from the pace of growth. worried me a little :?

also not going to have someone blaming it on the system water dirt

Favorite boiler...............Ideal E type. High running but low maintainance costs and a lifespan easily 40+ years and immune to the effects of a dirty system
Or a Grant triple pass

Atag primarily, excellent boilers, easy company to get on with. If any were to fail they will pay me to fix them.
I was fitting GW ultracoms as my 2nd choice but they discontinued it and released to Ultracom2. Its not an improvement and I'm always wary of anything new. So I'm maybe on the lookout for a new 2nd choice boiler. Possibly Viessmann, but will worry about it in the new year as i dont fit boilers this time of year.

you can still buy the ultracom tho i think it is just another name i'm with you tho the ultracom 2 ent as good

i like the flexicom as it fits mos places best in a kitchen cub

I'm a Vaillant man these days, moved on from WB but the Intergas kit has me very interested...

Vaillant, Worcester and Viessmann are my favs.

If its a combi, Vaillant, or Worcester CDI series

If it's Heat only open vent, Viessmann WB1B to 26Kw followed by Worcester 30/40 Conventional for larger houses, then bigger Viessmann thereafter

Sealed system usually Vaillant then Viessmann for light commercial

Budget jobs, perhaps Remeha but I'm not their biggest fan. Wouldn't put one in my house.

I will only install gas boilers that I get a 5yr warranty on. Peace of mind for the customer, and me.

Oilers; Worcester, Grant or Kidd. Each have their own merits, Worcester and Kidd aren't easy to install as a Grant, but that shouldn't be the first priority.
