Intersex people exist. In very small numbers.

In the hundreds of thousands. More than those who identify as Cornish.
But bigots will be bigots.

The whole thing's got really ridiculous, especially for those who are genuinely intersex, who are now associated with drag-queens and a bunch of other assorted clowns.

Especially when those typical bigots don't know the difference between transvestites, transexuals and panto dames.

I once worked with a woman who had big hands. She was fine, we got on well. Everyone knew the situation, nobody made a big deal, everything was fine. She didn't blow any trumpets, life just carried on.

This illustrates perfectly your understanding of intersex, if you think that intersex people have big hands.

Until society accepts medical biology overrides legal constraints, some mechanism has to exist to allow intersex, or transexuals access to appropriate facilities.
If your response is that all intersex, or transexuals must only use male facilities, are you prepared for "biological females as determined by their birth certificate" to be present in male spaces?
And "biological females, as printed on their birth certificate" to be present in female spaces.
You see how your tautological scenario can't possibly work?

I rather suspect your wife would be more content with transeual females in female spaces than transexual males.

The toilet door signs just need to read "Stand up" and "Sit down". The facilities accomodate either requirement.

Women in a men's toilet can be more of an issue than the other way round, as women have individual cubicles. I'm not happy with women perving at the blokes using urinals. As I've experienced in a UK motorway services - apparently a "female cleaner on duty" sign makes it OK, I didn't think so.

So as far as your experience and knowledge extends, there are only toliets that are sex-specific spaces?

All attention seeking nonsense. Everyone knows what a man or woman is really, a few attention-seekers are pretending they don't fit in, and some noisy do-gooders are attempting to prove how right-on they are by claiming that things are more complicated than they are.

Almost everyone is a man (male) or a woman (female). The tiny number who genuinely don't fit this mould are quite capable of discreetly fitting into whatever is closest. But there are a much bigger number who just want to perv or make a fuss about nothing.
