I think you have to ask for a bacs transfer or something like that. Have a google.

Edit - sorry , its a 'chaps' transfer (no , really ) or look up FPS.

when RBoS nearly collapsed, part of the terms of the bailout was that they would divest themselves of NatWest branches in Scotland, and RBoS branches in England.

My accounts are at an RBoS branch in England.

Santander have bought it.
