Or so it seemed!...no obvious sign of a leak and shower working great so popped out for a few hours this afternoon...returned home to water pouring through the ceiling! Seems to be running back down the pipe behind the wall.

What have you done not tightened it up enough on the olive ?

Tightened around the olive. Everything seemed fine shower worked fine no sign of any leak but must be water running down the wall slowly. Everything is fitted as stated so I'msure I am nearly there! Have a plumber coming to have a look. Ill try tightening up more on the olive if that could be the problem
Waters passing the olive to be going down wall, You've either over tightened and split pipe or under tightened.

actually ginger i take my comments back,our plumbing lecturer said you cant call yourself a plumber untill youve flooded someones kitchen.

Sooner flood my own than somebody else's. hey, you have got to try these things. It's been a learning curve. The wife wasn't best pleased mind.
ifshes anything like mine shell spot a redecorating oppertunity a mile off, better brush up on your tiling/ painting skills
