Half the village without water. Don't Panic!

It's a pity we in the UK don't have the domestic water supply system they have in Oz: one supply pipe for potable water and another for grey water.

It's the same old friggin' story in this country. We don't ensure the underlying infrastructure will and can cope. I'm assuming at least some of the stories I'm seeing on tv about reservoirs being sold off are true. Were those reservoirs genuinely excess to requirement?

As for the amount of water that escapes through leaks, how robust are the measures in place (against the water companies) to get the leaks sorted? Yes some leaks will always occur, but to the extent reported? Disgusting. It's almost excused away by some as not being important.

How come as a human race we've not been able to design systems and payment structures that ensure the basic requirements of life are affordable for all?

Oh yeah that's right, power, greed, corruption.
