Had a new uv oiled floor installed, I wanted to protect it from wear and tear so put 2 layers of wax oil on it. Turned the floor into a mess. I've now spoken to the wax oil manufacturers and they tell me that you shouldn't apply wax oil on top of uv oiled floors!! No mention on their website or any product literature.
Anyway they are recommending I now sand the floor! Is there any other way I can get rid of the wax oil? I feel totally devastated that I seem to have ruined my floor after 1 day!
Help really appreciated?

Warm iron over a cotton cloth to absorb wax.
Then clean with white spirit and 000 wire wool in direction of grain [gently] then clean with solution of water and white vinegar.
