The adult population of the UK isn't 42.95 million. Clearly your widely reported FOI request Isnt what you say it is
Because I've found various FOI requests and they agree with the government estimates I linked to, and that you tried to use but made a basic mathematical error.

Yeah, different data sets. The FOI doesn't exclude children or people over the age of 65. It just says people.
When you only look at people aged 16-64 you only get around 9.5 million
Even within that FOI a 'criminal component' doesn't mean they actually were convincted or cautioned. So you're still over estimating people with what we'd call a criminal record.

Everything I posted confirms you don’t have the data, which is why it’s irrelevant. Why do you think it’s relevant to a) this thread or b) a discussion about the %age of people who have been to prison?
I made a point that society has a problem, if more and more people end up having done some prison time. Once you get over a certain portion of the population, you have a problem not with crime, but with law.

It's relevant if that is or isn't happening.
If you're making up your numbers or unable to do basic maths, which it seems you are, since your own sources disagree with you, then that's absolutely relevant. It means we can't trust your statements.

You’ve made assumptions about crime elements which are incorrect, assumptions about over 65s and under 16s. Your data is based on estimates. It’s pointless
To find out that you're bad at stats and too proud to admit a mistake. It lessens my opinion of you.

No you can't. The UK population is just short of 70 million, less than 12 million are 15 or under. You're still missing more than 13 million people. And people under the age of 16 can also be on the PNC.
70 - 45 - 12 = 13 since you're struggling with the maths.

The percentage of the population who have had a prison sentence. Is what you are looking for.
Not right now I'm not.
Plus I don't trust your numbers or your methods, you've shown you don't know them that well after all and you ignore anything that disagrees with your conclusion
