I very cleverly had 3 'lamp sockets' fitted in my living room however i did not realise that the lamps will need a different type of plug to normal. Can i just buy 3 point round plugs and attach them to my lamps or is it more complicated? This will teach me to try and be posh. Please help.

Yeah just get the plugs and fit them (note: there are several sizes of round pin plug, usually the 5A size is used for switched lighting these days though sometimes the 2A size is seen as well).

The reason for using round pin sockets is to avoid accidental overloading of the lighting circuit by plugging in unsuitable appliances.
