Can anyone help me out. I have zero electric knowledge so please explain anything in real simple terms.

I'm having my shower replaced, I currently have a 8.5kw electric shower.

I’m looking for a new electric shower, and have seen one, we really like and brilliant price but it’s a 9.5kw

What I need to know can a 9.5kw run from a 6mm cable and would my RCD fuse which is 80a 30ma, be ok, or do I have to stick with the 8.5kw.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Uh oh.

Is the 80A 30mA RCD ALL you have???

Can you take a piccy of what supplies the shower cable?

if you have 6mm cable, then, no you can't run a 9.5kW shower as this will be too powerful for the cable/circuit breaker

SO just stick with the 8.5kw. is that correct

Get an electrician to upgrade the circuit so that you can have a 10.8kW shower.

You should have a fuse or MCB which supplies the 6mm cable, an RCD is not a fuse/MCB.
As BAS says - if you want to go bigger then you ideally need a sparky
