any ideas on what to do?

I recently had all my walls plastered. I left them just over a week to dry and then used an undercoat designed for metal accidentally. The paint is oil based, so I just wanted to check what was best to do?

Should I use a paint stripper like paint panther? Will this damage the plaster?

Should I just sand down until I get back to the plaster?

Could it be ok if I sand off the shiny layer and then carry on as normal?

I know I should have done a mist coat, I tried mixing water with the oil based paint and didn’t clock it when it wouldn’t mix. Too many late shifts recently!

Please help!

Note to self. Read the application data sheet online before using any paint.

As for your question.
Sand over with 120 grade with a cheap DIY orbital sander.
Then use a primer. I would use Zinsser BIN or Zinsser Aqua BIN

With good prep yeah.
It's just a bit thicker with application.
Fully cured after 7 days is the spec. 4 days should be fine with this good drying
