Hello all.

I'm looking to Install a Hive thermostat.

Currently I have a Potterton Promax Combi 28 HE A.
This is fed power from a nearby fused spur which is also feeding a Danfoss 103 mechanical timer. The timer has always been set to constant & the temperature is controlled by a Danfoss (model unknown) thermostat.

As far as I can tell, I can disconnect and remove the thermostat as it's replaced by the wireless one, and the timer is replaced by the Hive Receiver.

The wiring is slightly confusing for me - as you can see in the pictures, there are wires bridged on both the thermostat and the timer.

Just looking for some advice before I dive in and make an arse of it.

Cheers!

Hi Gary,

What the Hive needs is a permanent live and neutral, a common feed wire (linked on photo L to com), and a switched live wire (black wire on your thermostat). The timer would need to be disconnected as this is now taken up with your Hive. The thermostat is operated by batteries, the receiver is mains powered which is the one connected to your current thermostat.

Hope this makes sense?
