Hotpoint WMS38 Door Locked light staying on

Hi,

My 7 year old Hotpoint Washing machine won't let me open the door.

As far as I can see, it's drained the water out OK at the end of the cycle. I did use the 'Rinse Hold' finction on it today for the first time in months (yes I did press the rinse hold button when i got home and it spun as expected).

Any ideas?

put it on spin again see if any water comes out of the waste pipe .

tried that yesterday and nothing appeared to come out of the pipe. the washing inside looks dry.

am just trying it again though.....

no change after putting it on another spin cycle.

door still locked.

have also tried unplugging it for a while, but no change either.

help, please...

remove the lid and put your hand down inside near where the lock is .on the back of the lock is a lever to release the lock door will open ,if it happens again lock will need replacing .
