It’s a shame Boris Johnson is only doing this massive rush job on boosters for political gain.

it’s so he can do his “world beating……” routine

Usually I agree with you, but not this time. He was castigated for his slow response before, this time he is trying to be on the ball and forestall the criticism.

Got boosted today. Was very busy, much busier than for the first 2.
One crazy thing though. Guy in front of me queuing, and at entrance asked
"what vaccine?"
"Moderna."
"I don't want that, I want Astrazeneca".
"But it's what we are giving for the booster"
"No, I refuse to av it. I got mates that got sick with it".

Why go to a covid vaccination centre, to only moan and say you don't want the vaccine.

As it happens, a nice nurse spoke to him, and he saw sense and had the vaccine. Neither of us died in the 15 minutes we were waiting together.

My arm hurts. So far, that is all. Going to risk a glass of wine.

Cornwall - plenty of fresh food produce, plenty of pasties, plenty of vaccines and boosters, and according to my single friends, plenty of fish.

Yorkshire - plenty of Yorky puds, beef, pork and boosters - not checked out the local fishing though for a while :=)

They seem to be well organised here. Around a 10min wait. Appointments only. Local GP in his posh new health centre. Several local ones merged.

So if you can get an appointment via a GP do.

Thats a fair point -I do accept he is one the ball with boosters (now), but for the public that is a side benefit to his real motivation -political gain

Why is it suddenly such a rush -weve know about omicron for a few weeks -what has changed is the leaking of those Christmas parties.

this is entirely political game playing -look at the grandstanding in PMQs yesterday.

and as usual he is lying "fastest booster roll out in Europe" -no its not, Germany did 1.5 million yesterday

Be fair - after a fashion. The are late to get the booster in at a point in time where they may get us through the winter period. It seems they are likely to but if too many catch it at one time death rates etc will go up as well.

They have known that boosters are needed for months. The BBC decided to let people know by mentioning what was going on in Israel. Giving everybody they could get their hands on boosters. Also mentioned by a member of the advisory group - we keep an eye on Israel as they are well ahead. Nothing to do with Omicron.

Another forum - comment. GP said not yet because we think you wont be getting another one till next winter.

The other panic I have mentioned - change in the age groups in hospital. Looks more like a typical start to a wave.
