"Cabinet Office fined £500,000 over New Year honours list data breach"

But who pays the fine?

Oh that's right, the taxpayer!

The illegals are costing over £1.3 billion.

But who pays the bill?

Oh that's right, the tax payer!

over £1.3 billion.
Small fry to Tories. They don't even blink wasting tens of billions on useless tec. And as long as they are gifting their chums multi million pound contracts for useless PPE, they will turn a blind eye to other less important issues.

£1.3 billion, lol.

Define an "illegal" in your own words, then we can discuss your figures.

There are many definitions.

But long version
Someone who claims to be fleeing oppression and yet travels through several safe countries, pays thousands to criminals for unlawful assistance into another country, "loses" all their paperwork and then lies about their situation? Rather than do what 1000's of people when they want to legally enter a country for legitimate reasons?

They're considered by all legal and rational people and organisations to be perfectly legal asylum seekers, until their application is denied.
Then they are usually left to find and fund their own way home. Very few are repatriated by UK.

Now would you like another stab at defining "illegals", but this time try one that equates with national and international law.
Otherwise your perception is just a bigoted and incorrect definition.

until their application is denied.
And they then blow up hospitals.

What are the laws on seeking asylum again? Are you saying these are all French Nationals trying to get into the nearest safe country?

And why does no reporting refer to them as asylum seekers? Could they be because they are not?

He had been languishing in UK for 10 years without any support for a large part of that. He may have suffered from PTSD before his inhumane treatment by UK.
He was known to have suffered mental health issues and the government still removed all support and left him wandering the streets.

What are the laws on seeking asylum again?
Why don't you educate us instead of asking irrelevant and nonsensical questions.

You've resorted to gibberish. The typical refuge of those whose arguments are based on bigotry and nothing else.

And why does no reporting refer to them as asylum seekers? Could they be because they are not?
The typical right-wing media favoured by you probably does not refer to them as asylum seekers. But if you open your eyes to more official reporting media, you'll find that some even discern the differences for you. You ought to read and educate yourself to avoid your bigoted and hateful loaded stereotypical comments.

Who would be stupid enough to buy unchecked dodgy Chinese PPE? That would be ridiculous. Even more ridiculous to award that company a government contract.
