How long before it gets damaged.....

...... and the nice new flooring, fabric of the building gets ruined.

Found in my local pub recently re-opened with a makeover and nice new flooring fitted (not saying it is actually a DIY job though being a commercial premises).

A water pipe (probably) sticking through the floor fitted with a compression stop end and just waiting for the chair leg to damage it (or somebody to walk/tread on it hard).

Prior to the makeover, new flooring etc, the main bar consisted of a carpet and old church pews for seating, one of these pews was in such a position to totally cover the pipe. In fact I wasn't aware the the pipe until now.

Yep, all we need to do is wait.....surely they could have capped it below floor! It's a trip hazard anyway.
