My missus hates remotes. I have a drawer full of them, but here is what I use all the time. Includes remotes for other in use enetertainment. I have two tv's in the same room, whiich are usulally on to watch different channels.

TV
portable TV
dvd player
4vcrs
cd player
vbox
4 sat receivers
1 all in one remote

That's 14 to hand that I use.

Have 4 others for disconnected equipment and 8 more left over from stuff I used to have.....

I keep the ones I use in two plastic lunch boxes.

One.

Logitech harmony one.

Replaced 10 remotes, pretty much anything can be done with the press of one button (i.e. sets the tv and amp to the correct inputs, dims the lights (if applicable for that activity), adjusts the volume, turns on the device and turns off anything that's not being used).

I have 4 in my bedroom.

TV
SKY
DVD
Speakers

The sky remote controls the TV too, but if i want to use the DVD player i have to use the tv remote to set the TV to HDMI input.

this is a neat little replacement for most remotes

We had this problem, but then sold the 52" plasma and bought a 7" LCD, which we sit closer to for the same effect and controls are within arms length.

Saves on batteries too

Bet thats fun whole family grouped around watching the latest widescreen movies on it

Two - Harmony 555 & a PS3 remote (PS3 works off bluetooth so won't work with the Harmony.... unless you buy a USB dongle or a more expensive remote).

I can set my Panasonic TV to another input by pressing TV then Help on the SKY remote. :P

I love my TV upstaris, just one remote. If I could ever be bothered I'd get one of those one for all jobs. I hate being overloaded by techology, which does so much to diminish our lives.
