...would you need to add to a given quantity of double concentrate squash to make it the same concentration as ordinary (unconcentrated) squash?

To make your calculations easier, the bottle is not on conveyor belt.

Will it be effected by gravity, and will I be pouring it in a vaccum?

The usual gravitational forces present on Earth will be in force and no, there won't be a vacuum.

3 times as much at a guess....

1 part water for ordinary (unconcentrated)
2 parts water for concentrated
3 parts water for double concentrated

Or have i missed something? :?

Joe would only know if he could mix them in an empty coke bottle

I may be misinterpreting your answer...

You can buy ordinary strength squash.

You can buy double concentrate squash.

I wondered how much water you would have to add to the double concentrate squash, not to dilute it for drinking, but to make it the same concentration as ordinary strength squash.

I daresay you could compare the specific gravity (Oh fck, not again) of the diluted double and single concentrates to find out how much water you need to make them the same.
If I'm talking rubbish I'm sure somebody will correct me.

Did you know that there are more atoms in a glass of water than there are glasses of water in all the oceans.

36000000000000000000000000 atoms in a glass of water
378000000000000000000 glasses of water in the world.

I don't know who counted all of those, but it must have taken a while.

Not really sure I get the point of this thread.

My thoughts are:
- Normal unconentrated juice is normally drank neat.
- Normal concentrated sqaush is mixed about 8:1 with water.
- Double concentrated in my mind would mean twice the flavor per volume.
- So to mix it up to the same strength I would be aiming for a 16:1 ratio.
- If you where aiming for the same volume you would then hence use half the volume of concetrate and fractionally more water (6.25% more).

In the mean time, back to work!

There is no "normal concentrated".

Ordinary squash is 4:1

Double concentrate is 9:1

Normal, oridinary, its all much of a muchness! I also wouldnt mix normal squash concentrate 4:1 but I know some do, and that thats more like what the manufactors recomend.
