How would you secure this?

Hi, I have a gate to put on to a path which is finished with self binding gravel. I need to get a good foundation to bolt into - see photo - what would anyone recommend doing?

I would dig a hole and pour a concrete foundation. I don't do groundworks though so it could be crap advice.

1.5m wide in total so 750cm each side - how deep for the foundation?
