Newgas, have you considered a road legal quad, i know its insurance and MOT but they are awesome fun on the road and you can even go green laning if you fancy some mud in between your teeth instead of wasps.

Heres one i had although i never green laned it, just purely for the road.........super moto style!

Well i bought it brand new in march 06, cost 6k on the road, i did spend a little more on it like the wheels and tyres and a free flowing exhaust so about another grand.

Its a Polaris predator 500cc troy lee limited edition, had loads of fun on it for 3 years then sold it to buy another brand new one, never got as far as that though cos the missus went mad as we are meant to be saving

You can look on pistonheads under classifieds>bikes>quad bikes>road legal for an idea on prices, i wouldnt bother with the 250cc begginer ones as after a day you'll want more, id start with 400cc at least. My 500cc was my first and within a week i was used to the power albeit only 45hp it would wheelie in 1st and 2nd and even in 3rd if i sat further back on the seat, top speed was 80mph so not a cruiser but more of a round town.

Ah those were the days, sunny days, get the lads together and go out on a ride out, nice with no helmet on too but keep your mouth closed cos flies dont taste so nice and they come keen at 80 too.

The replacement was a Yamaha raptor 700cc, fuel injected and turbo'd, was importing it from this company in sweden, it was their ex demonstrator.......

There are companies over here now that sell the turbo kit so now that im working and she's chilled out a bit after she bought herself a boxster i might get a toy for myself again.

Heres some guys i know from nottingham, their a crazy bunch but actually nice lads if you talk to them, the black lad is a stunt rider but none of the 2 wheeled riders know, they just think he's mad....

And theres plenty more of him on there too :D

Whatever you do - don't be fooled into buying Chinese replica rubbish because thats exactly what they are....bike wise, anything from Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki or Yamaha is recommended. If your a big fella go for 200cc upwards, ideally.
John :)
