Ideal Logic+

Sounds like the traditional dead leg on the HW circuit somewhere.

I am surprised that PVM apparently does not immediately recognise that as a likely dead leg effect.

Usual cure NRV on hot water out pipe if the dead leg cannot be amputated.

I do, but I don't remember when I fitted it last Feb leaving any dead legs !,
maybe have to fit a NRV anyway, the last Logic I fitted 3 weeks ago had 2 long dead legs, and didn't have this anomoly.........

Is there a water meter fitted?

Cant remember, was there last Feb..... why ?

Actually I have no first-hand experience as an installer but on every job we do (Warmfront) with a Logic (hundreds if not thousands) where the client has a water meter it's always a shock arrestor and a double check valve.

I believe it is solely the way the meter turn one way and will not absorb a sudden concussive turn-off somewhere in the property. This is the way tech. decided to get over it.

I used to fit a mini expansion vessel where this problem arose, always worked when I hit such a problem.

if they using wab vavles to fit water meter then u can ram screwdriver into top end of it and it will break double check vavle

had to do this once twice when i fitted them other types don`t have them preinstalled

also since all new builds have to have a double check vavle in place
u think new boiler could compensate for this :?:
is this first design flaw

Since new builds use plastic pipe I expect that is able to adsorb a little expansion if it had to.

However, if you analyse the sutuation, if the boiler has been delivering DHW then thats already hot in thebpipe and will cool and contract so I dont see any aditional expansion taking place after the DHW demand ceases as long as the boiler is switching off promptly.
