? I think we all 'missed something' - provided, that is, that the new required socket is horizontally aligned with, and on the same wall as, the point where the cable comes through the wall. There then wouldn't even need to be a box/blank plate whereit came through.
I'm a bit lost here.
What's under the hall floor?
If it's a void, as it's so low down why not drill from the new socket position downwards at a steep angle to come out under the floor
or chase down the wall and drill through lower down
