Hang on....you can drill through and go across to the new socket as the new socket will create the zone....wont it?

? I think we all 'missed something' - provided, that is, that the new required socket is horizontally aligned with, and on the same wall as, the point where the cable comes through the wall. There then wouldn't even need to be a box/blank plate whereit came through.

The box in the picture is on the hall side to show the presence of the cable where it comes up from under the floor from the hall socket.

The cable then enters the box and another leaves through the back of the box, through the wall into the socket in the dining room.

I'd prefer not to use an FCU. I like the look of a blank plate type appearance.

So, as I'm using MK Logic Plus, I'm thinking of using a 1090 flex outlet, rated at 20A.

I'm a bit lost here.
What's under the hall floor?
If it's a void, as it's so low down why not drill from the new socket position downwards at a steep angle to come out under the floor

or chase down the wall and drill through lower down

I would have said that, particularly if one 'takes one's glasses off', an unswitched FCU looks much the same as blank plate
