Investment

What good does it do a company if you buy its shares then sell them a day later at a profit?
Many will buy and sell a stock on its upward trend. The demand fuels the demand and the company benefits from increasing its market capital.

Shorting hurts the company and costs jobs. Sometimes the shorters lose their shirts. TSLA shorters famously lost billions shorting it, during its pre-growth period.

None.

Did you think it would?

It could. The 'markets' can, and do, cause a lot of trouble for people, for companies, and for entire countries. It makes me laugh when anyone claims to be an ethical stock market investor rather than just a greedy chancer! Justin, at least, doesn't claim to be ethical.

I suppose I had better ask this question as it has long been on my mind. What is the motivation to continue once you have accumilated a massive wealth? I always thought it was the chase getting there that was the excitement, once you are there what is left?
