Hi,

Why do they use fabric coated flex on irons and not High temp silicone cable?
 
So that it will kink and twist and individual cores will protrude through and you will either pay for a new flex or throw the iron out and buy a new one.
 
Because in Korea where they make the irons they have shorter legs so the flex goes further :mrgreen:

Because silicone flex is too easily damaged. You can pick lumps out of the insulation with your fingernail if you wanted.
