I ran a forum, it had highs and lows throughout its time. In the end I couldn't be arsed Administering it so I handed it over to one of the other Admins.

I lurked on this forum for ages before posting and I bet there's many others who lurk but don't post.

I am not sure how the lack of argumentative and provocative posts from the same old people in the general discussion forum is a gauge for the demise of a DIY site ... when the actual DIY forums are as lively as ever?

yep that's a quality statement, and you're right. My concern is that there are still a number of the numpty posters who have cleared out many good and decent posters... for example sooey..fmt...alarm(associates).. they're still here... and yet decent folk like dex get booted everyday... and then the other quality posters who have just been bored to tears with the ego jousting..

The good thing is that the boards are helping many many people which IS the whole point....

GD will evolve and evolve again....

So yes i guess this place is thriving.... just wish i owned it !!!
