Right I missed all of that, I dont do it online and I only buy a ticket when the pot is very big, went on to check Fridays ticket.
Find it odd that they should do it at the busiest time of the week for them
They said the site would go down straight after Saturday's draw and will be back again Monday.
I suppose they get the biggest gap this way between draws to do the work.
It's back now.
They said it was a technology upgrade to future proof it. The site itself all looks identical.
Hmmm - sounds like a hack to me or a white hacker as I think they are called, that flag up vulnerabilities in return for a reward. Something does not seem right.
No, it is nothing like that. This is just significant planned maintenance. My guess would be a migration of some of the underlying IT systems that the website serves up that needed to be rolled out and validated.
If someone had done penetration testing (which is probably what you mean by white hacker, the term is 'white hat'), or pen testing, then they identify the flaw but don't exploit it. But doing that without agreement of the site owner is illegal.
We may see if I am right in about 6 months when it all comes out.
