Is this good work?

I recently got a handyman/plumber to replace the matt black plug/ waste in the bathroom sink and am not necessarily happy with the aesthetics of the sealant work. Is this good work & what I should have expected or is this bad work. For reference the previous waste had no white sealant. The plumber knew in advance he was working with Matt black products.

From the room entrance of you are 5'9" or shorter, yes and anywhere in the room if you are sitting on the toilet or lying in the bath or such height

It’s not the best, but not the worst I’ve seen either. It also doesn’t look square on the trap.

Yes your correct it does to me too on closer inspection. Pete's suggestion of black paint probably the easiest way.

Or, gently wire brush the sealant out of the grooves of the thread.
