ive lost chuck key for drill:( any suggestions pls

hiya there

yeah have lost the chuck key for my old hand drill and am wondering if there are any tricks i can use in order to remove and change drill bits without mangling my hands and shouting and screaming ???
any help would be most appreciated. many thanx

yes, buy a new chuck key at a tool shop.

your local hardware store will probably sell multi chuck keys for a couple of quid

have also seen them in pound shops ;)

:( I bought a multi-headed one for a pound on a market stall, painted black, it appeared to be made of zinc and the head snappd off on first use. It might have been branded black spur.

A tool shop, or DIY shed selling Bosch or B&D or some other genuine make in steel is better.

Keys are sized to fit Chucks (not drills) so you do not always have to buy the same brand as your drill. Many chucks are made by Jacobs.
